Welcome

Bradford Model Engineering Society is one of the oldest of its kind in the country, being founded in 1908.

Rail locomotives form a large part of our members’ interests, but other interests include marine, road vehicles, stationary engines, clocks and general engineering and model making.

We have regular monthly meetings throughout the year including guest speakers, auctions, social evenings and the occasional visit.

We host open days in the summer and welcome visitors from other model engineering societies to our two tracks in Northcliffe Woods in Shipley.

Both railways carry passengers on Sunday afternoons throughout the summer months and in winter on occasions, weather permitting.

The society operates its 100ft portable railway at a range of events and offers birthday parties at the Northcliffe track.
